President to undertake a state visit to Sri Lanka

His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, will undertake a state visit to Sri Lanka from 3 to 6 May 2026, at the invitation of His Excellency Anura Kumara Disanayaka, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
During his visit, President Dr Muizzu is scheduled to meet high-level dignitaries of Sri Lanka and hold official talks with President Disanayaka towards enhancing the close relations between the Maldives and Sri Lanka. The two leaders will witness the exchange of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) concluded between the two countries in various sectors.
President Dr Muizzu will be accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and a delegation comprising Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials.
President Dr Muizzu remains firmly committed to further strengthening relations with countries that make significant contributions to the Maldives' development and progress. President Disanayaka's visit to the Maldives in July last year, marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, stands as a testament to their close and enduring friendship.
