Letters to the Editor
The paper publishes letters from readers across the islands and the diaspora. Here is how to be heard.
Maldives Today welcomes letters on the issues we report. The best letters are short, specific and rooted in the writer’s own experience or expertise.
How to write to us
Send your letter to letters@maldivestoday.com. Include your full name, the atoll or city you are writing from, and a daytime phone number for verification. We do not publish anonymous letters, though we will consider withholding a name in print where publication would put the writer at real risk.
Guidelines
- Keep letters to 250 words or fewer.
- One subject per letter, please.
- Reference the headline and date of any story you are responding to.
- We edit for length, clarity and house style; we do not change the writer’s meaning.
- We do not publish form letters, sponsored content, or letters that have been sent to other publications.
Longer pieces
For an op-ed of 700 to 900 words, write to opinion@maldivestoday.com with a one-paragraph pitch before sending the full piece.
