Warmer and drier: February's climate outlook
The Foundation for Environment, Climate and Technology reports above-normal temperatures and well-below-normal rainfall across the country.
February 2026 was warmer and drier than normal across the whole of the Maldives, the Foundation for Environment, Climate and Technology reported in its monthly bulletin. Rainfall came in below thirty per cent of the long-term average in several southern atolls; mean temperatures were 0.8 degrees Celsius above the 1991–2020 baseline.
