Lucy Bronze and Ona Batlle Join Kandima’s Festive Line-Up

Lucy Bronze and Ona Batlle are scheduled to join Kandima Maldives from 26 December to 1 January as part of the resort’s 2026–27 festive programme, with football coaching and guest activities planned during their stay.

Kandima’s published festive line-up lists children’s coaching, beach games, a football match and a penalty shootout with the two players. Their visit covers the period between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

The resort has also named football entertainer Billy Wingrove and his family for 12–22 December, and tennis player Dustin Brown for 17–27 December. Brown’s programme includes daily clinics, a festive tennis competition and individual coaching sessions.

England and Spain Internationals

Bronze plays for Chelsea and England. Chelsea confirmed in a recent club interview that the defender had extended her contract during the summer ahead of the 2026–27 season.

In that interview, Bronze identified winning the European Championship in England as her career highlight. She also described starting in grassroots football at Alnwick Town Juniors and joining Sunderland’s academy at the age of 12.

Batlle joined Arsenal this summer after leaving Barcelona. The Women’s Super League announcement on 10 July records 114 appearances and 14 goals during her three seasons with the Spanish club.

Before returning to Barcelona, she spent three seasons at Manchester United. She started every match in Spain’s successful 2023 Women’s World Cup campaign and won two Champions League titles during her most recent spell at Barcelona.

December Guest Schedule

Giulia Siegel and Ludwig Heer will feature in the music and dining programme around New Year. The resort’s wider festive activities include its PlaySpace entertainment venue, electric karting at Fast Track and a New Year celebration.

Transfers to Dhaalu Atoll

Kandima is in Dhaalu Atoll. The resort’s transfer information lists a direct seaplane journey of approximately 40 minutes, or a 35-minute domestic flight to Dhaalu Airport followed by a 15-minute speedboat transfer.

For travel through 10 January 2027, its published return seaplane rate is US$675 for adults and US$375 for children aged two to under 12. Infants travel without a transfer charge under the listed policy.

The domestic-flight option is separately priced. The resort lists return Comfort Class transfers at US$414 for adults and US$300 for children, with a higher-priced Sapphire Class option that includes lounge access, additional legroom and a larger baggage allowance.

Those transfer charges are separate from the sporting guest schedule. Kandima directs travellers to its reservations team to arrange transfers in conjunction with their international flight times.
