Half a million tourists before March closes, in spite of the war

Cumulative international arrivals passed 500,000 on 4 March, despite the onset of the Iran war and the cancellation of dozens of long-haul flights in the preceding week. The year-to-date figure — 502,252 — is 8.8 per cent above the same window of 2025.

Ministry officials said continued demand from Russia, Italy and China had cushioned the early drop in United States and Western European source markets.
