Flights cancelled over the weekend as Middle East tensions escalate
Nine on Saturday, nineteen on Sunday; more than five thousand travellers affected.
Velana International Airport recorded nine flight cancellations on Saturday and nineteen on Sunday, as regional carriers adjusted schedules in response to rising tensions in the Gulf. Officials said 5,246 passengers were affected over the two days.
