February is the best month ever for tourism, with 247,722 arrivals
A new all-time monthly record, posted before a shock that will reshape the quarter.
The Maldives received 247,722 international visitors in February 2026, the highest monthly figure ever recorded, according to the Ministry of Tourism. The figure was 15.7 per cent above February 2025 and capped a quarter that began with a single-day record on 1 February.
The strength of the month was, by its close, retrospective: the Iran war began on 28 February, and the March figures — still being finalised — are expected to show a sharp reversal.
