Aman Names First Maldives Resort Amanolu, with 52 Keys Planned

Aman has named its first Maldives development Amanolu, with plans for a 52-key resort in Vaavu Atoll and five-bedroom residences on individual private islands.

The company's published project description identifies KHA as the architect and includes separate islands for wellness and recreation. Aman lists the Maldives destination as coming soon, without giving an opening date.

The residences are planned with indoor and outdoor living areas, a 25-metre swimming pool, accommodation for staff and a private berth. Owners will have access to the resort's dining, wellness and recreational facilities.

Aman says the homes will offer sunrise or sunset views, with some islands providing views across both. Its public page is accepting enquiries about the residences but does not list sale prices or nightly resort rates.

The name combines Aman, the Sanskrit word for peace, with Olu, inspired by the water lily, according to the company.

Earlier plans for the development

Aman's earlier Maldives project page described a hotel and 16 branded residences designed by Kerry Hill Architects. It set out plans for homes ranging from five to 10 bedrooms, each on its own islet with a private beach, pool and landing jetty.

The current Amanolu description specifies five-bedroom homes and a 52-key hotel. It does not state a total number of residences or explain whether the earlier residential mix has been revised.

The two public descriptions both place private-island residences alongside the hotel operation. The earlier page described wooden walkways linking parts of the development and architecture designed around the island landscape.

Aman has also published residences at other destinations, including Amanyara in the Turks and Caicos Islands and Amanvari in Mexico, within its wider residential portfolio.

For Amanolu, the currently published facilities remain development plans. The company has not provided an opening day, a reservations launch or a timetable for handing over the homes on the project's public page.
