The Marine Stewardship Council brings the whole of the Maldivian tuna fleet under certification coverage.
Marine Stewardship Council certification has been extended to the country's yellowfin tuna handline fishery, bringing the entirety of the Maldives' commercial tuna fleet under certification coverage for the first time.
The council said the extension was evidence of 'continuous improvement' in the country's fisheries management and would add measurable premium to the export price of yellowfin over the next trading year.
