MIRA to be notified of amendments to government agreements
Ministry of Finance announced that any amendments to agreements that may affect state revenue must be declared to the state's tax institution Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
Finance Ministry published a circular stating that the agreed sum of money owed must be conferred to the state by parties involved in the agreement prior to amending or renewing such agreements, or if there are any changes to the parties.
Stating that the ministry must be consulted to make changes to money owed under the regulations of any government office the gazette further adds that changes will not be allowed without prior consultation.
The current administration is vowed to take important measures to improve state efficiency.
