Major Shakeup at MMPRC: MD Fathimath Thaufeeq Dismissed

In a surprising move, Fathimath Thaufeeq has been dismissed from her position as the Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC). This decision marks the latest significant change within the state tourism promotion board.

A senior government official confirmed Thaufeeq’s dismissal on Wednesday. However, the Privatization and Corporatization Board has yet to comment on the reasons behind this decision.

Thaufeeq had been appointed as MMPRC’s Managing Director on December 17, 2023. Her departure follows closely on the heels of Aisha Nurain Janah’s resignation from her role as MMPRC Chairperson just a day earlier.
