Maldives congratulates new emperor of Japan
Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has congratulated the new emperor of Japan for ascending to the throne.
Japan’s new emperor, Naruhito, ascended to the Chrysanthemum Throne on Wednesday after his father abdicated a day earlier.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Minister Shahid congratulated Emperor Naruhito and the people of Japan on the historic occasion and gave his best wishes for the peace and prosperity of Japan.
