Minister Shahid will also reaffirm Maldives’ commitment to strengthen the strong economic synergies between the two countries, as well.

In addition, Shahid will also host an official reception to mark the opening of the Embassy of Maldives in Thailand.

The foreign ministry noted that the opening of the embassy will bring in “a new chapter” in the bilateral relations between Maldives and Thailand.

The new embassy will “promote the Maldives’ socio-economic and commercial interests, the export of Maldivian products and services” and assist both countries’ businessmen, workers and investors.
